JIDE ADELEKE

Jide Adeleke is a sophomore at Blackstone Valley Prep High School. When he isn’t taking photographs, you can find him playing basketball for the BVP Lions.

Jeie is a true Renaissance man and a local Rhode Islander.

HILLARY ANNE

Hillary is an artist whose day job has her coordinating international study abroad programs across the globe. She graduated from Bard College at Simon’s Rock with a degree in cross cultural relations. Her current job has taken her all over the world, which has provided lots of inspiration for a variety of works. Since she was a child she has admired the work of Cristina Fournier, an artist whom she met in Costa Rica at the age of 6. They spent a day in the mountains and painted flowers together. Most recently working in acrylic paint, Hillary has been recreating landscape scenes. She would like to learn more about water colors.

JOHN FAZZINO

John Fazzino, a Connecticut native, who now calls the Mt. Pleasant section of Providence, RI home, received a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1986 and an MFA from Swain School of Design, U Mass, Dartmouth in 1989. John has received awards and fellowships from the Rhode Island State Council of the Arts. Recently John placed second in the annual Earthworks show at South County Art Association. In 2014 John took First Place again at the annual Earthworks show and the Juror bought the piece as well. In 2013 John was honored with an award of Best Sculpture in a members show at the South County Art Association. In Earthworks 2009 John received second place for Fluted Vase. In 1996, John received third place for “Tall Bud Vase” in Earthworks. At Earthworks 2001, John Received First Award, for his piece, “Cepheisd”; a work consisting of 3 separate concave platters colorfully glazed and hung on the wall.

His work is also displayed in New Bedford Art Museum and Artworks, New Bedford, Ma., The Courtyard Gallery, Mystic, Ct., 7 Arrows Garden Center, Attleboro, Ma., Quackin Grass Nursery in Brooklyn CT, The Outside In, in Piermont, NY, The Spring Bull Gallery in Newport RI, Brooklyn Pride, in Brooklyn, NY, and at the Grimshaw Gudewicz Art Gallery in Fall River, Ma.

He explains that his larger outdoor work nests itself in the garden, creating a nice counterpoint to the flowers, shrubs, and trees surrounding it, while the smaller pieces may use the flowers and stems from the garden in the home. Larger works can be nicely placed in the home as well.

In addition to his Ceramics works John was taught while at RISD by Victor Lara and a few other renowned instructors, color theory and specifically the art of watercolor. He has continued to experiment and explore this area of his creativity and has mastered a very specific technique which lends itself to the medium as well as to his continued experiments with color and design.

Yingzi Guo, also known as Vesper Guo, is a senior art student at School One High School on the East Side of Providence. She is an international student from Shenzhen China and she works in a variety of fine art media including painting, drawing, sculpture, video, photography, and digital art. Vesper recently won three Gold Key awards in the Rhode Island Scholastic Art Awards this year and she won a Silver Key in the National Scholastic Art Awards last year. She currently has her photography work on exhibit at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Vesper plans to attend college to study fine art at either the School of the Art Institute of Chicago or Pratt Institute in New York City in the fall. Shari Weinberger has a BA in Art History and a Masters in Museum Education.  She does not consider herself an artist, but a creative recycler of found objects.  She can regularly be seen going through her neighbors’ recycling bins looking for inspiration. She recently built a fountain in her backyard made of broken tiles and mirrors, shells and sea glass. Her father repaired grandfather clocks, so these mobile made out of solid brass clock and watch parts have special meaning to her.  She and her husband Zachary live on the eastside of Providence.

MARK WINSOR

IMG_20160309_132733Mark Winsor was first inspired to work with watercolors about twenty years ago while on a sailing trip which included a visit to the artist colony on Monhegan Island, ME.

“I became fascinated with the use of paint as a way of interpreting and expressing the beauty I see in nature and the world around us.”

At first self-taught, he has studied under the late Kaji Aso of the MFA Museum School and more recently he has worked with the North Shore artist Paul George. Mr. Winsor is an Artist Member of the RI Watercolor Society, and a Painters Guild member of the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society.

He currently lives with his wife and family on Rosasharn Farm in Rehoboth MA and maintains a studio in Warren RI.
